The Great Western Sugar company elevates three Weld county men including Blephen B. Force to Denver as assistant to general superintendent H L Martburg. Windsor’s Schmuxle moves to Fort Morgan, and Oliver Swaney swaps Windsor duties for Greeley area superintendent roles. Force, a Greeley high school graduate, is a Colorado Mines alumnus and ex lieutenant colonel with service in Africa, Sicily, Italy, and France. Rolland Robert Calkins 52 of 3 Fourth avenue died Friday morning at Weld County General hospital. Born December 31 he lived in Greeley all his life. He was a member of the Salvation Army.
