UNC science institute draws 33 high school juniors
Thirty three top science minded juniors participate in the University of Northern Colorado Frontiers of Science Institute funded by a nearly $25,000 grant from thirteen Colorado industries. The program, instructed by UNC faculty Paul Richard, Dr. Donald Adams, and Jim Ellingson, runs through field and lab experiences in earth, biological, and physical sciences to spur continued study in science. Sponsors include Climax Molybdenum Co, Ideal Basic Industries, Public Service Co of Colorado, TRM Corp, and others.

UNC chemistry dept receives NSF grant for equipment
The National Science Foundation awards UNC Department of Chemistry an $8,500 grant to buy a Varian EM-10v mass spectrometer and a chart recorder. Dr. Roger Kovar will administer the $7,100 matching funds program to enhance undergraduate instruction and expand students' experimental capability.

Richard Doyle joins city housing authority in Greeley
Greeley Mayor Richard Perchlik announced local attorney Richard Doyle’s appointment to the city housing authority Tuesday night and re appointed five existing members. The changes follow a state law requiring housing authorities to dissolve and re establish. Edwin Boos remains chairman with a five year term Irma Princi four years Martha Benavidez three years Fred Redfern one year and Clyde Davis replaced by Doyle for a two year term.

Charges filed again against 7 POWs in North Vietnam
Air Force Maj. Edward W. Leonard Jr. brought mutiny charges against two Marines and five Army enlisted men, but three of the accused with honorable discharges cannot be tried under military law. Pentagon lawyers cited lack of jurisdiction while earlier charges were dropped and some defendants now civilian. Leonard criticized the Army for not fully investigating prior accusations and questioned the involvement of the Navy and its role in the case.
