Farmers Field Day Planned at Aggies July 31

Colorado Agricultural College hosts the second annual Crops and Soile Conference and Field Day on Friday July 31 at 1 o clock in the Solls building near the athletic field. Noted speakers include Prof. Alvin Kezer and R D Hockensmith. Lectures cover alfalfa investigations phosphorus availability in alfalfa feeding vitamins in alfalfa and alfalfa diseases. A farm tour led by D W Robertson H E Brew baker and Dewey Stewart concludes the program.

Foaston Woman's club luncheon honors Colorado leaders

Mrs Valentine Macher of Boulder, president of the Federated Womans' Club of Colorado, and Mrs Tinsman, Northern district president, were honored guests at a nosegay luncheon in Foseton Community Hall. Attendees included many local club members. speeches by Mrs Fincher and Mrs Tinsman highlighted the event.

Rare Tobacco Grown Under Bond in U S

Farmers who grow Perique tobacco, among the rarest varieties, must operate under bond supervised by the U S Internal Revenue department. Production is monitored for potential revenue from sales, with unsold crop destroyed under government authority. A small region in southwest Louisiana hosts the historic crop once grown by Indigenous peoples. In 260,000 pounds produced statewide, price reached 80 cents per pound, while most Ohio tobacco is repurposed into lumber on farms.
