At Estes Park yesterday Mr and Mrs H D Parker entertained Rev and Mrs Charles Elliott of Quincy Illinois. The Parkers will return to the city about August 1.
The Erie reception will feature a large solid silver loving cup as the prize for the county best exhibit. W V Olin of the Consolidated Commercial association issues invitations sent countywide. Erie hosts the cup exhibition with refreshments and a program for attendees.

In Dallas the anti prohibition side led by 4 224 votes as returns from the Sunday statewide election were counted to 11 o clock. Fraud charges were raised by prohibition leaders as full returns awaited. Early tallies showed a tight race with about 475 000 voters likely casting ballots and a margin of 8 000 claimed by anti prohibitionists. At 11 30 p m the tally stood 222 474 for the amendment and 226 704 against.
Kersey July 24 reports say potato prospects are the best in history with minimal blight despite water concerns. Expert estimates place yield around 160 sacks per acre, some predicting 175, with buyers seeking field options at $1.10 to $1.20 per hundred. Hay and grain also exceed expectations as dry farmers anticipate large yields. Mrs. Dalquist of Wray visited Greeley Saturday.
Washington July 24 The Canadian reciprocity bill passed the Senate without amendment by 53 to 27 after all prior amendments were defeated. The measure, which had already passed the House, will become law upon the president's signature, but cannot be presented to President Taft until Wednesday when the House reconvenes. Taft expressed pleasure upon news of passage and will return to Washington Tuesday morning.
