J D Cantrell 27 of Carlsbad New Mexico a truck driver was shot to death near Hobbs while aiding two Hobbs women identified as Alva Barbara Edwards Lemmons 23 and Dorothy Fern Gilson 23 both Hobbs. the women were abducted and later killed. Investigators found a third vehicle left scene, belt and ring evidence, and a likely struggle at the site west of Hobbs. The case involved a 22 caliber weapon and multiple gunshot wounds with a late Tuesday discovery.
