One Slightly Hurt in County Accident
Over the weekend Weld county roads saw no deaths with minor injuries. A 1996 Lincoln driven by Alvin J. Herman 28 of Route 4 Greeley skidded on Twentieth street road seven miles west of Greeley. Damages were about 2200. The incident occurred at 10745 p.m. Sunday, Sergeant Welch reported. Earlier a 1953 Ford driven by Gregoria Garcia 17 of Pierce parked at Lee's Drive Inn and Richard Harley 23 of 1610 Fifth street collided after Harley pulled up, damaging both cars. Estimated damages: 25 and 45 dollars. Patrolman Warner covered. Saturday a collision on Twentieth street road near Greeley involved a 1953 Mercury driven by Robert Meyer 18 Route 3 Greeley and James Salazar 2 of Deover All. Meyer pulled from a driveway. both cars damaged left front. Damages: 400 and 500 dollars. Patrolman Wilson covered.

Two Injured in Sports Car Wreck Near Pueblo
A $10,000 sports car carrying Ulysses Grant Marshall of Tulsa and Virginia Herlock Marshall smashed into the Huerfano River bridge about 21 miles east of Pueblo. Marshall suffered cuts and bruises while Mrs Virginia Herlock Marshall was hospitalized with a fractured nose. Highway Patrolman Joseph Hall said Marshall apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

Ray Humphreys chief investigator for the district attorney's office stated Van Ellis was charged with larceny by bailee and embezzlement of 100 dollars from company cast receipts on May 24 1956. James Montgomery a partner said an accountant found shortages totaling 2500 dollars for a nine day period before June 12. Montgomery said Van Hills had been discharged June 12.

Foster Son's Widow Dies at Denver in 1930s
Mrs. Oliver Baker, 51 year old widow of Col. William Cody’s foster son Johnny Baker, died after a long illness. The Bakers opened Cody Memorial atop Lookout Mountain after moving to Colorado in 1921 and she ran the museum after her husband’s 1931 death. Born in Holyoke Massachusetts, she married Baker in 1900 and is survived by a sister Wall Burgess of Holyoke. Funeral services scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
