Weld County Civil Defense tested its communications network and alerting system Friday in a nationwide drill from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. About 1,100 residents were in the county unit with 340 participating. 83 county units and eight town units were contacted by telephone while ham radio links were set up in Greeley and across the county. The exercise simulated a storie bomb raid evacuating Denver and included capture of supply sources for food and gasoline in Weld and Larimer counties.

Everett Bolinger Dies From Fall In Greeley
Everett Bolinger 57 a Greeley tree trimmer died at Weld County General Hospital Friday morning from injuries after falling 25 to 30 feet from a front yard tree. He suffered chest and head injuries and was taken to the hospital after firefighters arrived. Born January 5, 1900 in Lincoln Nebraska, Bolinger had lived in Greeley since 1920s and previously came from Fort Morgan. He was a former city forester and lived at 1933 Fifth Street. Surviving are his wife Jennie Bolinger a daughter Charlotte 18 and a sister Mrs Ben Nickell of Kirksville Missouri. Funeral services will be announced by Macy’s.

President Eisenhower signed a housing bill authorizing lower down payments on FHA insured homes and authorizing additional 1.893 billion dollars for housing programs. Eaton Farm Boy Injured After Fall From Tractor
Robert James Winter 14, of Eaton, fell from a tractor towing two cultivators about three miles east and one mile north of Tarcerne.
