Greeley Man Appointed to Vehicle Board

Gov McNichols named five members to a motor vehicle advisory board coordinating with the Colorado Revenue Dept. County Highway Patrol Headquarters Finishes Here

A new State highway Patrol headquarters complex is completed at 203 Fourteenth Avenue in a five county area. The project includes a 195 foot microwave radio tower at the southwest corner. Burglary at the Ash Senior Home on Fast Fifth Street Tuesday reports two men’s watches among loot. Other stolen items include a man’s wrist watch, electric razor, three cigarette lighters, two suitcases, clothing, bed clothing, a deputy sheriff badge and an old mantle clock. Entry appeared between 5 am and 5 pm after a skeleton key unlocked a porch screen door and intruders crawled through a kitchen window.

William Eckardt Eaton Jeweler Dies at 76

William Eckardt 76 of 249 Oak Street Eaton died Wednesday night at Weld County General Hospital after a hospital stay since June 18. A longtime jeweler in Eaton since 1927, he owned Eckardt Jewelry Store and was born March 28 1681 in Casey Iowa. He and brother Charlin moved to Eaton in 1703 and worked as carpenters before hardware. Survived by wife Ida two brothers Charlie Exton and Prank Stuart Iowa and several nieces and nephews. Funeral 4:30 am Saturday at Macys Eaton chapel with burial Linn Grove.
