Rain Ends Greeley Drouth After Heavy Heat Wave

Intensive heat and drought across northern Colorado eased as a half hour rain brought relief in Greeley and surrounding districts. Temperatures dropped sharply, rural telephone lines and power faced outages, and storms caused minor damage in Estes Park and western Colorado. Moderate rainfall reported at the Great Western Sugar plant and across LaSalle Windsor and Kersey areas.

Loveland Man Drives Car Into Locomotive

The Loveland area reports Theodore Wick a 60 year old station operator injured when his car collided with a switch engine two miles south of Loveland. Wick suffered fractures to the pelvis left leg and left arm plus a crushed chest and was taken to hospital. He apparently failed to see the locomotive.

Three Hurt in Truck Coupe Collision Here

A late Friday crash at Thirteenth agenus and Ninth atrack left three people injured and one person fatally injured. Victims named include Vassau the truck driver and Frasier the coupe driver. Helen Powell Gardnar Wood and Mrs Vass uninjured. The collision threw the coupe onto a tree and damaged both vehicles.

492 Dead in Boat Wave as Midwest Heat Lingers

Local Woman Killed In Thompson Canon Car Crash

Mrs. John Pry, 27, of 304 Blaventh avenue Greeley, died when her car overturned in loose sand on a curve in Thompson Canon near Estes Park. Driver Schreve suffered injuries, coroner and sheriff reported. Pry left a nine year old son and several relatives. The accident occurred early Saturday as the coupe skidded and rolled, with Pry crushed beneath the wreckage and her body taken to Fort Collins for post mortem.

Auto Collision West of Greeley Seriously Wounds Three

Three people were injured in a west of Greeley crash on the Greeley Laveland road about eight miles west of Greeley around 82 m. Sai way when a westbound Studebaker driven by H. H. Garnes of Torrington Wyoming struck an eastbound Plymouth driven by McCoy Glenn of Farmers Spring. Glenn turned off the highway in front of Barnes car. Injured were Mya Barnes with a sprained ankle Wendell Barnes with cuts to head and face and Mr Barnes with head cuts. Damages were S175 to the Barnes car and S250 to the Glenn car. Sheriff’s office investigated the crash.
