Fatal collision southwest of Here kills two

Mrs. Rebecca Jaramillo, 41, of Milliken, died instantly when her car crashed at a gravel intersection near Ashton School. Kenneth Hough, 19, CSU student, and Elsie Gonzales, 11, were injured, while Mrs. Nora Romero, 43, died later at Weld County General Hospital. Investigators say Jaramillo's northbound car crossed the center and collided with Hough's eastbound vehicle, sending both into a plowed field.

Tragic collision claims several in Greeley area

The week end crash near La Salle and Greeley killed four and injured seven. Survivors include Mrs Edith Ise and her husband Hap Ise of Hibbs Clothing Co. two children Jed and Patricia among the injured. Several Jaramillo and White family members listed among the dead and injured, with services planned at Saint Peters Church and Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Climber Dies After Fall Near Boulder on Flatirons

Gabriel Lee III, 18, an experienced climber, fell about 100 feet while rappelling near the Flatirons south of Boulder. His companion Dave Roberts, 18, and two witnesses watched from a mesa as rope entanglement and a safety breach led to the tragedy. Roberts, valedictorian of Boulder High, and Lee’s family were notified.
