Artisan process makes ink drawing from a photo in a home darkroom
Irvin Desfor reports on a photography technique by Thomas Williams of Colonial Williamsburg that creates an artistic ink drawing effect from original photographs. The method uses a multiple negative sandwich, contact printing, Kodalith ortho film, and a turntable setup with strong lamps to produce a black and white line drawing ready for enlargement and retouching.
