J M Haney Found Guilty of Assault in Ault Case

J M Haney aged 45 of Ault was found guilty by a justice court jury of assault with a deadly weapon and fined 100 dollars and sentenced to 30 days in the county jail. The charge stems from an May 15 incident in Aulton where Haney allegedly threatened Bavainl G W McKenzie with a knife after an exchange over moving a truck. McKenzie testified Haney used a sap and claimed self defense, while the town officer observed the confrontation. The case was prosecuted by D M district attorney W R Bach with J G English assisting.

Fort Collins Man Drowns In Old Well Shaft

A Fort Collins farmer named Schmidt was drowned in an old well shaft in his backyard. Authorities investigated to determine if the death was accidental or foul play. Firefighters worked for 15 minutes to free the body, which was wedged in the two by four foot shaft near his home.
