County briefs summarize visits and relocations around Johnstown, Tobn itown and nearby towns. Families travel from Omaha and Denver to see kin, attend the World Fair, and celebrate the Fourth of July. Local church leaders move between towns, and several households welcome relatives or relocate. An accidental gasoline stove explosion causes fire damage before firefighters contain it.
Mrs. Orvin Eberhart enjoyed visiting from her mother and elater with Mrs. An derano and daughter of Moringa. Mr. and Mrs. Waller Wyan and family traveled to Greeley for the Fourth of July celebration. Several Beeten family members, Clara Herter, Herbett, and Arthur Beeton spent time near Glen Haven. Briggsdale area notes Harold and Harvey Wildingham, twins, returned home from Crealey hospital Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. H. A. Dotyard visited from Greeley to J. Fo Washburns on Sunday. Delbert Wickstrom and Mat were mentioned in passing.
The Fourth of July season brought a flurry of visits and travels. Norman of the Fourth in Greeley hosted relatives while Olivers Benechal visited Denver. J D Arnold and children from Groslay visited Mrs Kraft Clark. A Q Homes entertained at a family dinner with Ciel Johnson and family, Lawrence Cass and families, Brant Spangler and daughter. Roy Cordill and daughter Mary Lou returned from Fort Collins where they stayed with Cordill relatives. Jon Creek, cousin Charles Hinng, and Cedric Halleck returned from North Park and other mountain spots.
Keenesburg residents hosted relatives from Denver and Hudson for visits and meals. Mr and Mrs Bert Statton and daughter Betty of Denver were guests of Mr and Mrs K K Bratton. Mr and Mrs George Cook and son Paul from Denver stayed with Mrs Cook's parents. The Bosky and Hibbs households hosted dinner. Several locals, including Mr and Mrs Walter Reinwald and Mr Herb Knox, spent the Fourth in Greeley.
July 6 report from West Pawnee and West Paynes notes a neighborhood wind storm Sunday afternoon at Bur Paah farm. Strong wind tore into hen houses and 400 chickens perished or were left unaccounted as damage details remained incomplete.
A fragmentary local note records events around the Ayars farm including visitors and family updates. Mrs Louise Fisher of Topeka Kansas visited her daughter Mrs Janos Burnatt and Charles Kenyon with family from Mitchell Nebraska also visiting I B D Kenyon of Loveland. The Gagnon family spent Sunday at the John Darby home. Gladya Keith returned home from Kimball Nebraska hospital. The Woods and Hookome families spent the Fourth.
On the Zink ranch near August’s bend, youths from the Pee Archers and Rudalt Wickstroms hosted a gathering. Igelt and Avary families joined along with James McGeeheve and Peter Dauna for Fourth on the Willow, a local event marked by mingled activities and community presence.
