North Webster Indiana July 1 two gunmen believed to be bandits from the Walinger gang slugged a doctor after he treated a gunshot victim. The assault occurred at his Win dome office near Francis Avenue as the pair robbed a South Bend bank the day before. The doctor, wounded, aided a patient and was then struck and knocked unconscious. his office was ransacked and the telephone wires cut. The assailants fled. Local authorities identified one suspect as Homer Van Meter, a lieutenant in the John Tilenger faction.

Elmer Rowe a Weld County resident and former county commissioner died Sunday at Central City while on an outing. He was 72 or 73, a Pennsylvanian by birth who moved to Colorado in 1868 and farmed before serving Weld County from 1912 to 1949. He held church and fraternal roles and is survived by his wife Barbara and several children and siblings. Funeral services were set for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the We held funeral home drawing room with burial at Center Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Augusti Pager of Victor died at her daughter Mrs Walter Senrivor’s home 918 Fourteenth Street Sunday noon She is survived by her husband W K Pager a son Charlea of Nevada a daughter Mrs Elizabeth Lehriver and four grandchildren Funeral services will be held at Riverside cemetery chapel Tuesday at 3 p m with burial there Arrangements are by Hartley funeral home The party will return to Hera on Tuesday Rev Willard Strndl in charge of the service.
Abe Guidinen aged 50 died of a heart attack while visiting his daughter Mrs Charles Meyer in Leavenworth. The body was sent to Leavenworth after services at Macy's Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife and Lynette Meyer and relatives Mrs Goldman and Charles Meyer. A marriage license was issued to George Roth and Marta Stromoth of Gresley on Saturday.
