Evans sees reunion recall of 0 Westover known as Uncle Oliver who taught singing over fifty years ago. Cynthia Westover Alden, famed journalist and president of the International Sunshine Society, accompanied him and attended Evans school in youth. Teele Dean Westover married a sister of Peter Hosemith of Greeley. Mrs Westover still lives in Evans.
Denver inspectors visited Port Lapten last night to review Company N U G C. They reported the local sold ier boys were among the state’s best drilled.
Jan 209-¢. Fowler of the DeWitt hotel is seriously ill with illness and his Denver partner Ernest Miller remains with him. Fowler, inventor of the Fowler tunnel machine, moved to Ault last June after trading the hotel, had worked on a dry dish at Fort Morgan, and planned to install an electric plant at the hotel.

The Greeley National bank will close at noon Wednesday for the funeral of Mrs. Thirza Flower Wheeler wife of the bank vice president. Other city banks Union National First National Weld County Savings and City National will close at 1 30. Hugh Wheeler and Miss Lee Flower arrive from Montrose and Hattiee ture. George H West and Edna West of Colorado Springs are expected to attend.
LaSalle January 3 Cook and Brothers of Evans have purchased the George Parks pool hall and will operate it as before. Mr Parks has leased the Boyd farm south of town for farming. The farm supplied sand used in cement for Milton reservoir lining and is in high demand by railways and street grading firms. The sand yield has already provided a solid income.
Mrs. G A Gibford died this morning at her daughter’s home in Greeley after a period of failing health. She was 60, born in Iowa, and survived by nine children living in Washington Minnesota Iowa and two daughters in Greeley. Funeral services will be in Greeley and interment at Newton Ta Fort Lupton.
Religion in Denver will be studied as a science by the Men and Religion Forward Movement. A January meeting at the Twenty third Avenue Presbyterian church approved moving from spiritual argument to material aims with institutes in March in the business district. Rev. Warren Bunger led the discussion and lectures will follow in the evenings.
H O Blaisdell champion typist of the world visited Greeley Commercial College yesterday. He demonstrated a fast typing routine and dictation at 106 words per minute with five words deducted per error. He has held the championship for two years and carries a gold medal as proof of his skill. He travels west representing Underwood typewriters, the machine behind his records.
Governor Shafroth's address at the Kansas City conservation convention was unanimously printed in the Congressional Record and thousands of copies distributed. The act drew Republican protest as the speech touched on western conservation and national topics, though the governor paid $88.30 for printing and franking.
Lincoln day activities will be held Friday February 9 at Greeley schools. Lincoln day February 12 will be observed as a holiday with no school in session.

He presented three stages of thought: confused thinking as wholes, later clear thinking, and scientific thinking that classifies parts. Mr and Mrs S M Bayes have adopted Homer Cheatwood’s fifteen month old son. Adoption papers filed in county court Saturday. Baby will bear the name Kenneth Cheatwood Bayes per the father’s request after the mother’s death when the child was five months old.
In New Location Eaton on January 30 W B Longwith moves his undertaking goods and picture framing business from Main street to the Bellrose building this morning.
A group of six young boys near Greeley found dynamite in a cave at a Clayton brick yard area. They played with it Sunday night and planned a fireworks celebration, but a boy reported the find after police were alerted. Thirty sticks were recovered and returned to Clayton Lumber. Had the plan gone ahead the group could have been killed.
Attorney General Ben Griffith will be principal speaker at the Roosevelt mass meeting Friday at 8 pm in the court house. The Roosevelt club invites all supporters of nominating Roosevelt for the presidency to attend as the meeting will organize the group and elect officers.
A large sale is under way northwest of Ault to auction arm machinery and stock from Mrs. Clara Wing and others. The Women's Aid Society of the Baptist church served luncheon to the crowd, with proceeds benefiting the church fund.
Mrs Smilie and Mrs Hogue hosted the Saturday Afternoon Card Club in Eaton on January 30 with twenty guests. The gathering featured fancy work, a diversion program, and refreshments.
