Greeley Lagoon hearing topics span plant sites to costs
A two session workshop in Greeley at Holiday Inn and in Kersey at Platte Valley High School will explore seven areas on a proposed sewage treatment plant including location delta east of the city methods of treatment growth air and water effects social and economic costs health recreation impacts wildlife and natural surroundings. Comments will be recorded for an environmental impact study by Midwest Research Institute contracted with the EPA.

Colorado Senate approves four noncontroversial bills
The Colorado Senate gave preliminary approval to four measures including two eliminating licensing requirements for midwives and ore buyers. No licenses exist for midwives and only one ore buyer is licensed. A small change to the Uniform Consumer Credit Code was also approved for final consideration.

Appeals court upholds Weld judge in plea hearing denial
The Colorado Court of Appeals affirmed Weld County District Judge Hugh Arnold’s decision to deny a hearing to Keith W. Johnson who sought to reopen his plea after switching from not guilty to guilty on aggravated robbery. Johnson claimed misled by undisclosed statements from a robbery victim and a knife-wielding accomplice, but the court found no basis to overturn the plea.
