Greeley Man Survives Gulf Raft Drill Disaster
Lt Bechthold of Greeley survived a raft capsize during a Gulf drill near Santa Rosa Island. More than 20 Army Rangers were aboard three rafts. two officers drowned and a jumper was missing presumed dead. Bechthold and others swam to shore after the rafts capsized offshore.
