She is daughter of Elliott Roosevelt, second son of the former president, now a rancher near Mocksville Colorado.
In Taipei, nationalist forces opened fire on Red Chinese gunboats causing eight vessels to retreat. The clash occurred Wednesday amid ongoing tensions and signals a sharpened military stance from the Nationalist authorities.
