Mark Hyles, described as a poor unfortunate, was brought to Greeley hospital after his mind deteriorated from a two week cold exposure. Dr. Thompson and Dr. Ellie performed amputations on both feet, one above the knee and the other at the ankle, as limbs were badly frozen. Officials note the patient remains in critical condition with severe mental decline and uncertain survivability.
