Farm Show Kicks Off Tuesday at Inland Grove Pavilion

The 1978 Centennial Farm Show opens Tuesday at Inland Grove Park Exhibition Building C with booths, a 7 15 p.m. historical Nags presentation by Colorado Air National Guard members from Greeley, and a two day schedule including Lane Palmer Farm Journal review, estate planning panels, dairy and nitrates discussions, Ladies' Days events, and crafts.

Weld County approves subdivision plot amid legal dispute

Weld County commissioners voted 3 0 to sign the final plat for Interladco Inc s Indian Head subdivision east of Kellm after a state court of appeals remand. The case arose from a 2 year struggle over damages and county approvals, with new owners cited and questions about zoning and standards.

Colorado plans two month preschool needs study

The Colorado Department of Education announced a two month volunteer study assessing the needs of preschool children statewide. Donald Moore, coordinator, said the project will involve community groups and early childhood researchers to map services and gaps.

County volunteers to back statewide program plan

He outlined using the plan as a basis for statewide programs and proposed volunteer committees in each county to organize support. The project is expected to be completed by April 1.

Three herders killed and horses driven off by Indians

In Colorado Territory near Sidney about twenty five miles south three herders were killed on Saturday and twelve of their horses were run off. The river fell notably this week and the Jackson Street bridge path will be repaired when mud clears. Tribunes from June 7 1676 and 1876 note Arapahoe and Cheyenne movements toward the north and possible Sioux alliance, with the headwaters of the Republican cited as a gathering area.

Lamm seeks public commission to curb hospital costs

Denver AP Governor Richard Lamm urged Colorado lawmakers to form a public commission to curb rising hospital costs and insurance premiums. He said private agencies lack local authority and that Medicaid reimbursement caps distort charges, causing overcharges to non Medicaid patients and hospitals refusing Medicaid patients.
