Northern Colorado may be united by a new express line as discussions consider an electric belt road. Officials from regional governments and transportation agencies weigh routes and funding. The plan aims to improve intercity travel and spur regional economic development.
George Peck the Paris bond broker is quietly studying a plan to build a 250 mile belt electric road linking principal towns in northern Colorado’s agricultural belt. Directors of the Denver Greeley and Northwestern Railroad meet in Denver to decide on issuing 10 million dollars in bonds and the initial Denver to Greeley segment if approved.
George Peck, Paris investment broker, arrived in Greeley to evaluate proposed electric express bonds for northern Colorado towns. He plans to submit a financing proposition at the directors meeting and may back Paris investments in the project. George Spear and C. T. Spear joined Mr. Peck in Denver for the meeting.
A farmers union was formed at Gill on January 14 at the school house. Sixteen members signed the charter with B. K. McLain elected president and C. B. Boyd named secretary and treasurer. A second meeting is planned for next Tuesday evening.

Walter Etchinson, a storekeeper in Orchard near the Weld county line, questions ownership of a large white steamer left in his barn by a shabby young man two weeks ago. The driver borrowed $2 and offered 50 cents daily storage while promising to fetch parts in Longmont. The machine bears the near 5676 number, with possible alteration. If the driver does not return, Etchinson will notify officers about the suspected stolen vehicle.
Police recovered John Winter and Fred Peterman two boys aged 12 and 14 wandering near the depot yards in Greeley. They gave conflicting origins from Cheyenne Fort Collins and Denver and were turned over to the sheriff for investigation.

Officer Ahrend arrived, arrested John, and he is held in county jail awaiting trial with arraignment and Monday hearing set in Justice Hatch's court.
