Dover reports a 15-year-old girl named Valla Moore fought to save her parents home during a high wind. Sparks from a passing engine started the fire. After years of failed organizing attempts, Weld county threshers plan a January 18 meeting at Farmers Supply and Machinery rooms to form a union. They seek uniform pay and protections against unscrupulous outfit owners who underbid and underpay workers.
