Dry Law Vanquishes Little Swiss Colony
In London Kentucky a Swiss colony eight miles from town faced decline after prohibition ended a 25 year tax free wine and beer law. Once 250 families strong the settlement dwindled to 13 as income vanished and youth left to explore other parts of the country. The colony was founded fifty years ago by Im Oberetot who bought land in Kentucky.
