Man Arrested for Arson in Englewood Fire
A 99-year-old Denver man, Charles Franklin Parker, was arrested and held on $26,000 bond after a joint Englewood police fire and Colorado Bureau of Investigation probe linked him to a $1.9 million arson fire at a K Mart on November 21. Colorado CBI to open new high tech crime lab
Colorado Bureau of Investigation plans to complete installation of a new sophisticated crime laboratory within weeks. Director John MacIvar says the facility will allow full investigations of criminal evidence for state agencies and the bureau, reducing the need to send rare toxicology cases elsewhere, while continuing use of FBI fingerprint files. The CBI maintains 90,000 sets of prints from the Rocky Mountain region. Since 1967 the agency has handled 6,000 examinations for state agencies in 30 months and 700 of its own cases.

In Aurora Colorado students and public school staff welcomed two former prisoners of war home to Fitzsimons General Hospital.
