Boulder Quiet Noise Ordinance Cuts City Noise
Boulder’s anti noise ordinance, begun in 1970 as the nation’s first, shows three years of reduced complaints. Noise readings, summonses, and fines declined, with 440 loud car repairs or removals and 160 informal warnings since May. Heavy trucks have an 88 decibel allowance on certain routes. overall focus remains on voluntary compliance and education.
