Bootleggers Pay Heavy Fines and Face Denver Licenses
United States deputy marshal Thomas Clark visited Greeley as more bootleggers paid fines to the county. Those fined must obtain federal licenses in Denver or face imprisonment. The Laufer family pleaded guilty paying 7938.35 in fines plus costs. authorities say they earned six to ten thousand dollars selling liquor in two years. The Laufer capture cost several Windsor trips and will add about 100 more to settle with the government.
