Lincoln Day program notes postponed events at LaSalle and Eaton pupils with Washington and Lincoln. The Gettysburg address text recalls four score and seven years since fathers founded a nation, urging dedication to the unfinished work and a new birth of freedom for a government of the people.
The Colorado Supreme Court refused to overturn the district court ruling in the Florance mandamus case. Precinct 38 results stand at 143 votes for Florance, with the Robt. Dre contest to be dropped, opening the ballot boxes for full scrutiny in county court.
The Unitarian minister Mr Kerr spoke at the High School Lincoln memorial exercises on Lincoln's imagined speech. He urged addressing current social issues and ensuring equal opportunities for all colors, with swift justice, free education, and a sacred life, inspiring patriotism and progress.
Windsor schools held a joint celebration for Lincoln's Day and Washington's Birthday with programs at several schools. The nineenth School observed the day with a morning routine and an afternoon gathering by pupils and G A R members. In LaSalle a prominent event featured Lincoln themed readings and an exhibit, while Eaton hosted a formal christening of the new building during the celebration.
J A Weaver commends the Home Electric system trial on Eighth avenue noting it shifts lights to street sides for better diffusion. He argues the setup reduces blinding glare, improves visibility for approaching drivers, enhances aesthetics, may lower upkeep costs, and compares it to side lighting in theaters.
Forty men from Greeley sent money to Idaho for a land lottery. Only about twenty pieces in 40 000 acres were worth $45 an acre while most land was rough hillside. William Motheral denounced the drawing as a sham and expects 26 bargains with 474 losses. Another 50 000 acres will be offered and drawn similarly, with money to be returned to local entrants.
KE H Brown laid out Poudre City midway between here and Windsor and issued a souvenir post card urging support for Farmers Spur. The town grows around a beer dump and side tracks as a busy shipping point. J N Atkinson departed for Rocky Ford Thursday night.

A man paid 30 dollars and costs in police court for indecencies reported for some time. Marshal Williams caught him in the act. His wife had a divorce years ago. If he continues to annoy passers by, authorities may try to commit him to the asylum.
The eleventh grade held a party for the tenth grade Thursday evening at the Normal building. About 160 students joined in games and a pantomime drama. A grand march led by Prof. J. C. Kendel preceded refreshments.
Miss Abbie Johnson of Iowa visits her sister Mrs H. K. Clark. On Thursday Mrs Clark hosted a dinner for a dozen ladies that unexpectedly became a china shower for the guest of honor, who is soon to be married. A splendid dinner and delightful time followed.
Jay Frater of Eaton suffered a painful accident at the mill on Wednesday. His hand was caught between ropes and his thumb flesh was torn before he could be freed. The injury was dressed and he will be unable to use the hand for some time. Try a Tribune want ad.
James Sheppard of Eaton resigns from his rural route post with resignation effective at month start. He has served for several years and made many friends. He is clerk of the town board.
A death in Eaton claims an eighteen month old child and recalls the earlier TB death of the family’s older son. Funeral services were led by Rev. B Payne of the Baptist church with interment in Eaton cemetery.
One of the largest patriotic demonstrations in the city marked the one hundredth anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Schools held exercises while all business houses observed a half holiday. The First Methodist church hosted programs by G.A.R. and others with Rev. Lace delivering the principal address.
The Trinity Guild hosted a Thursday benefit dance at Academy hall. Mesdames Jesse Gale Katherine Hamnett J G Hughes and Bruce Eaton served as patronesses. Heuring's quartet provided music and a nice supper was served.
Mr and Mrs Charles Phelps and their two children traveled to Denver this morning. Mrs Phelps and the children will proceed to Colorado Springs to visit her parents Dr and Mrs McKinunule.
Misses Fiorenn Duggins and Harriet Nichola of the Normal traveled to Denver Thursday to visit four sisters of the former.
