Ski Instructor in Colorado Hospitalized After Skiing Accident
Manfred Stadler an Austrian ski instructor and racing coach from Idaho Springs was listed in serious condition at St. Anthony Hospital after a high speed run at Loveland Basin Ski Area caused him to lose control and hit a tree. He was found unconscious in trees, given first aid by nearby doctors, then flown by helicopter to the hospital. Stadler, 26, had worked at the area since mid December and was skiing alone when the accident occurred near the spillway to loosen up before a morning class.
