VAN NUYS Calif seven people died and 28 hospitalized after a four engine transport and a jet fighter collided during a test over a crowded San Fernando Valley schoolyard on Thursday. Debris struck Parapima Junior High School gym class as students scattered.
A California Zephyr passenger train derailed shortly before dawn near downtown Salt Lake City as it departed for Denver. No injuries were reported but several pupils and residents were treated for debris injuries. Police said the cause was not yet known and the derailed train left 4th South and Tilt West Streets, with about 28 admitted to hospitals and many others treated at the scene.
About 300 people from Weld and Larimer counties gathered at Weld County General Hospital auditorium Thursday to hear Gov. Stephen L. R. McNichol outline Colorado mental health measures.
