Weld County Deputy Ends Fatal Farmhouse Fight

A farmer Fred Bernhardt, 54, shot and killed his wife after a quarrel over the farm. A Weld County deputy arrived and exchanged gunfire, killing Bernhardt. The struggle began around 3:20 p m as neighbors and officers fought to reach the bodies and secure the scene near Johnstein.

Injured Denver Man Improves, His Wife Says

Willam J Foley, 50, of 1120 Broadway Denver, seriously injured in a highway collision near Greeley Monday night. He is in critical condition at the Greeley hospital after a multi vehicle crash that involved a northbound truck driven by Noel Burlington. The accident, caused by loss of control and unclear circumstances, blocked the highway briefly and injured four people, with Foley listed in serious condition. Local police report the driver and other passengers transported for treatment.

Bucher Leader In Legion and Greeley

Ellis Bucher, longtime Greeley resident born September 19, 1826 in Verdin County, died recently. He was married to Helen Davis of Wheat Ridge, worked at Cummings Hardware, and co ran Acme Furniture with Fred Waseman.
