Hitchhiker robs driver near Fort Lupton caught by patrol
A hitchhiker in a Denver man’s car on a Fort Lupton route pulled a gun and forced the driver to stop near Loveland. Jerry N. Proper, 27, of Aberteen Massachusetts, was arrested within an hour. Proper had traveled from Denver to meet his father in a hospital. He confessed to armed robbery and larceny as state patrols pursued him from Fort Lupton to Loveland.
