Voters in Adams County North Washington Fire District rejected a proposed 1 million bond to fund two fire stations and two emergency vehicles. The plan would have added 1.2 mills to the property tax rate, about $10.80 annually on a $30,000 home.
A line forms Tuesday morning as people await the Salvation Army Christmas Headquarters opening in the Monors Provision building at 703 1th Ave. Capt. Ernest Ouellette estimates about 3,000 toys and other items will be distributed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Flow city council again continues a 3.2 beer license request for Today's Market at 2400 16th St. to study distance rules. Law and city attorney dispute whether state standards apply, with a work session planned next month to discuss amending the ordinance to reflect real merits.
City of Greeley offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for Christmas, with other government offices and nearly all businesses observing the holiday. Mail will be delivered Friday. buses and county services pause Friday. most stations resume Sunday. The Tribune will not publish Saturday morning.
