Pen Guard Injured by Car Near Canon City

A Colorado penitentiary guard was struck by an automobile in front of the prison and remained unconscious in critical condition. Prison physician Dr. Holmes reported the guard, Arthur Tedtorn, 40, suffered a severe brain concussion. Everett and Eugene Burkhardt of 092 Kleventit avenue assisted in rescuing Nazi seamen aboard the U S cruiser Tuscaloosa near Columbus about 250 miles from port, after four years since training. Everett served as a machinist and Eugene as a radio operator, both enlisted in 1996 and 1995 respectively, and arrived in New York after the mission.

I G Scott of Denver Dies on Turkey Buying Trip

I G Scott, about 70, of Denver, died near Peckham on a turkey buying trip in Weld County Thursday night. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage while at the Ed Relehort place, 11 miles east of Peckham, as he prepared to bed. The account is fragmentary but notes his death occurred during the trip and that some survivors were taken to a location described as Deuter.
