Warden Willing To Give Wier New Chance To Make Good

Warden Roy Beat of the Colorado State Prison at Canon City would not seek the return of Hat Wier as a parole violator unless prosecutors prove Wier violated parole in ways beyond existing evidence. He said Sheriff Gun G Anderson asked Saturday how Wier could be returned and noted that a parole violation would require clear proof such as drunkenness or creating a disturbance. Beat added he would not receive Wier back without a written report and advised by Colorado Attorney General Byron Rogers.

Lloyd, 83, veteran of the Mountain Division of Western Union Telegraph, who toured in 1910, died today in Denver. He served as a general officer in the line and was part of the Western Union veteran circles. He passed away on December 29 in Denver.

Hat Wier Is Recquitted by Weld Jurors

Hat Wier known as Hat Wier age 3 George Warrlaon was found not guilty of the murder of Ray D Buller a Kali rancher by a Weld county jury that reported to Judge Fred W Curie near 6 48 p m Saturday. The jury told the sheriff they had a verdict around 6 705 p m. Delays in counsel and defendant entry occurred with Emil B fateh arriving last. Wier smiled as he understood the verdict and went to shake hands with jurors but was halted by the sheriff. He refused to pose for pictures saying he could not smile until he knew if parole removal was beat. He expressed belief Warden Best would not send him back to the penitentiary. Wier was remanded to the sheriff after Judge Clark noted a possible parole violation charge. He was returned to the county jail.

Mrs Maliesa Butler widow of Ray J Butler voiced support Sunday for a grand jury investigation into the conduct of the murder trial that led to acquittals for two men who were in the room when her husband was killed.
