Oklahoma Indian leader's phone threat charge dropped
U S Magistrate Alan Johnson dismissed the charge against Vern Stevens of Salina Oklahoma for allegedly threatening a Bureau of Indian Affairs office in Washington using a pay phone. The dismissal cited insufficient evidence of a real threat. Stevens said he acted to bring documents to court and claimed documented misconduct by BIA staff against Indians.

Fallingworth pleads innocent in dynamite on plane case
Ronald Lee Willingworth, 42, of Ameri can Falls Idaho, indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of transporting eight sticks of dynamite from Poonjella Hanha to Denver. He pleaded innocent in U.S. District Court. Judge Sherman G. Finesilver ordered a competency evaluation. Elko County District Attorney Rob ert Manley charged Sherman R. McCrary and Carl Robert Taylor with murder in the 17 year old Sheri Lee Martin abduction and killing. Martin was abducted August 12 1971 from a Salt Lake City suburb and found dead near Wendover Utah. Copies of the complaint were sent to California prisons where the men are held. Earlier the U S attorney filed kidnapping charges in Salt Lake City.
