Truck collision injures several on New Mexico school bus
A bus carrying about 45 students and a southbound truck rig collided in fog near Alamogordo NM. Driver Laurie Davis, 23, and a child were in serious condition. Four more children arrived at the hospital on stretchers. Police said the empty cattle rack struck the bus as it turned onto US 54 five miles south of the city.

Weld County approves over one billion in supplemental appropriations
Weld County Commissioners approve a year end supplemental appropriations package totaling more than 1 billion funded by federal and state grants and carryovers from the 1973 budget. No property tax funds are used. Largest item is 250,000 for Davis Farm property east of Greeley to relieve remaining purchase debt. Also added 95,000 for special litigation, 15,500 for jail prisoner needs, 37,000 utilities for building and grounds, 18,000 sheriff car maintenance, and 11,300 health building utilities, plus 123,000 in federal grants for aging and housing projects. The social services and health funds receive federal grant increases. The intergovernmental fund gains 22,900 for utilities on county shop buildings. Commissioner approval was unanimous.
