Miss Lizalieegel of Chicago married Andrew Lolof of Kervey after a cake mistake placed arsenic in the batter instead of baking powder nearly causing the Lolof family’s death. The unusual match links the accidental poisoner and the man who narrowly survived the incident.
A July incident at the Soloff home saw a bride-to-be mistakenly use an arsenic can as baking powder. Several residents faced death but all survived after weeks of frailty. The couple, Leet Misa Sie gel and her fiancé, wed quietly in Denver and plan a ranch home near Kersey.
A Park Merchandise booth features an airship made from 1000 to 2000 handkerchiefs designed by L. B Harrison and Harold Easterday aided by an electric fan to simulate motion. At Condon's store Martin E Cummings built a similar booth. both firms were unaware of the other's plan until completion.
Noted traveler Northland Frank Roberson visits Greeley for five weekly lectures starting January 15 at the Methodist church. His subject is The Polar World with motion pictures of the Arctic. Roberson impressed Chautauqua audiences last summer and has appeared in many major cities receiving high praise.
Incorporation papers filed with the secretary of state and Weld county clerk and recorder show the Duplex Rubber Company capitalized at 250000 dollars. Incorporators are Jack Kunsart D P Fagerstron and A Sharvor.
The Round Table held its regular meeting Monday night with Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Stockfield. An enjoyable time is reported.
Dora Moore nee Roe of Maton is in serious condition after swallowing lye last Sunday. Hospital reports indicate the act may have been in a personal crisis but some sources deny intent. She formerly worked as a domestic for the Watson household. motive remains unclear.
Eaton Colorado approves street improvements with an ordinance to gravel the remaining fourteen blocks, using about 000 yards of material. A 12 mph street speed limit and 6 mph at corners were set, while a grade ordinance governs street and sidewalk levels. Sewer system costs for District No 2 are apportioned at 11.12 dollars per 25 foot lot.
Thomas J. Leftwich testifies on July train shooting while accusing Detective Bergeman of perjury. Attorney Carlson challenges witnesses and tactics as Rhodes and Carlson clash over bribery claims and past cases. Adjournment marked rising tensions ahead of further testimony and potential jury deliberation.
Carpenter of the Colorado Land company reports Colorado has the largest state presence at the National Corn Exposition in Omaha and notes Colorado and Weld County displays. Colorado wins best ten ears of corn west of the 100th meridian. Indiana wins global best ten ears. He cites higher land values and strong immigration interest toward Colorado and Canada, with Weld County heavily advertised and expected future settlement.
Greeley Corps led by Captain Lee plans five hundred free Christmas meals for the poor, plus treats for 150 to 200 children, new shoes, stockings, coal, and more. Last year they packed 73 food boxes and 200 bags of candy and toys, aided by local donations and volunteers.
Fort Lyons in Las Animas Colorado will see the ancient stone house at the naval sanatorium restored to its former look. The plan is to turn it over in two to three months to the Daughters of the American Revolution of Colorado for a museum. The building will be stabilized and preserved as a historic landmark, with relics and a possible dedication ceremony by the DAR.
Windsor December 15 a musical program on the public library lecture series drew a large audience. The event, part of the season’s course, drew good attendance and followed a well attended previous session.

Joseph Thompson formerly of Greeley, back from five years in Durango Mexico, says agricultural prospects there hinge on creating a creamery powered by mining engineers. He favors Weld county and dismisses Mexico’s other opportunities, urging dairy enterprise start.
Mr Thompson speaks on his experiences in Mexico highlighting limited farming success for Americans and potential in creameries. He warns against relocating for farming, notes mining enterprises are largely American owned, and says young American engineers can find success in mining opportunities there.
Earl Little was found guilty of stealing clothes from C. M. Webb and was sentenced in Justice Hatchs court to thirty days in jail and fined twenty five dollars plus costs. Webb, the prosecuting witness, was arrested for non support of his wife and baby living with her mother on West Eighth street. The girl claims Webb married her in October in Denver. Webb is in jail awaiting his hearing.
This evening a Forefathers Day program at the Congregational church features a basket supper at 6 o clock and an address by Rev. 8 C Dickerson of Eaton. The event, by the Brotherhood, is chaired by Vernon McKelvey with church and Sunday school members expected to attend.
Condon Mercantiles has installed a private telecone exchange in the store with tour departments the bookkeeper's desk and manager's office including dry goods and millinery. An outside automatic exchange is present but infant calls are handled by the bookkeeper.
A wedding in Ault at the home of Mr and Mrs Charlies Collins joined Nellie Frances Collins to Claude RK Rhoads a prominent farmer. Only immediate families witnessed the moonlit ceremony. The bride who has lived in Ault four years will travel to Nebraska and then establish a ranch northwest of Ault.
