Council Approves Most Greeley Zoning Changes
Greeley city council and planning commission endorsed four of five zoning changes proposed by the planning commission at a joint meeting. Changes include shifting areas north of Ninth Street and west of Twenty Fourth Avenue to different residential zones and adjusting a corner at Sixteenth Street and Seventeenth Avenue amid two lawsuits. A petition for rezoning lots 31 to 48 in Block 16 near Ninth Avenue was approved, while Hodgoom’s east half of waters on Thirteenth Street remained denied. The corrected zoning map will be submitted next Tuesday for possible effect Jan 17.

Boyd Thompson Dies Saturday in Weld County
Boyd Thompson 53 of 109 Twenty-sixth avenue died Saturday morning at Weld County hospital after seven years of poor health. Born in Nebraska on November 12 1902 he ranched near Briggsdale before retiring to Greeley in early September. He belonged to Methodist church Brush and Community church Fosston. Survived by wife Hazel two children Howard and one grandson and brother Dale Thompson of Montana and sister Mrs Fred Glenn of Greeley. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Macys Mortuary.
