Amarillo Texas Aug 30 A D Payne the attorney who confessed slaying his wife in an explosion ended his life by the same means early today. Officers believe a 9 grain charge of nitroglycerine suspended about his neck caused the fatal blast. Fellow prisoners in the county jail were dislodged from their cells. a sleeping cell mate was uninjured. Payne died face down on his cot shortly after being indicted for murder. His two children visited him late yesterday and he greeted them with a hysterical kiss.
