Two Fatally Burned in Magnesium Plant Blaze

Two men died and a third was critically injured in a magnesium plant fire at a new wartime facility in Mount Vis. Victims were Donald Rannfield, 26, of San Jose. Henry Glura, 30, also of San Jose. Injured driver in corner crash at Sixth street intersection

L. L. Stimson sustained three broken ribs and severe shock when his car was struck by a second vehicle driven by 17 year old Wilhats Winn Jr of Evens. Stimson’s car overturned on Sixth Street near Twelfth Avenue as Winn was eastbound on Sixth. Police say the Stimson car rolled more than four times and landed on its top. Stimson was transported home after treatment by a physician.

Greeley sailor in Pacific fleet GI appendix case

William Taylor of Greeley firesman aboard a destroyer held up the Pacific fleet during maneuvers for an hour and a half due to acute appendicitis.
