Reports were coming in from the office about thefts during Pickle Day. Names include Rickard of Milton Lake and Kelle of 410 smiles south of La Srila, with mentions of wheels, a charging lurker, and tracks wideboards. Fort families were also noted.
A northbound truck crash on highway 86 near Lagalie involved Angelo Mancini who, despite a small stature, survived after rear ending a parked truck driven by James W. Davis of Chepewag. The collision caused the Davis vehicle to rupturedly collide into a borrow pit. Mancini’s vehicle sustained heavy damage, with lines and surroundings scattered over a wide area. Police described Mancini as hyperactive and reportedly believed he would have died if he were a biker. The exact cause and condition of others remained unclear.
Barnard Houtchens, Greeley lawyer, named as nominee for district attorney of the eighth judicial district at Loveland. He faces opponent Tignane with Baker of Lonmeant as another renominaton target. David Miller of the Weld county democratic committee notes Houtchens’ leadership roles and Colorado Junior Chamber ties. he studied law at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and played basketball at Greeley High School.
Maurice Poe 37, longtime resident of Greeley, died suddenly at East Lake City. He traveled recently for a wholesale drug firm and was a graduate of the Greeley schools. Survived by widow Emelre and daughter Marcia. Funeral arrangements pending with Weber.

Five people died over the weekend in traffic crashes across the state. James Stithivagen of Gedaredys, near Eckert, died after a car overturned. James E. Tratnor, 27, of Ordway, was killed when his vehicle overturned near HABatin, Greeley, Friday night. Emilia Ponte of Lirton, Nebraska, died in Cheyenne hospital on Sunday after a car overturned near Wyoming Hae attam. Frank Witt, BC, Denver, died Saturday from injuries after being hit by an automobile. his skull was fractured.
Michael A. McGrath of Baton dies after a life connected to insurance and the Sheep Feed association. He is survived by wife Atya Bermire and son Harold McGrath of Denver. The obituary notes arrangements at Armstrong in Raton and lists distant family connections.

Voters outside Greeley and Creeley precincts face disqualification if not re registered for the September primary. About 20 000 of 25 000 eligible voters must re register by August to vote. County Clerk Iva Bliss warns the Colorado rule requires re registration for all who did not vote or changed precincts. A U S Navy plane crashed off Cape May injuring instructor Lieutenant 8 Rieher and rescue survivor Bald. The other crewmate remains missing.
