Nashville report notes that fertilized farm ponds average about 2 pounds of fish per acre per month. Success is common year round if fish removal matches this rate. A well balanced pond should hold five pounds of bluegills per each pound of bass, with removal near this ratio.
Wanda Douglass marked her 13th birthday with a Thursday party for 16 friends. Edith Mack Glenn Anderson and Jim Stills won prizes from indoor and outdoor games as two decorated cakes, ice cream and punch were served. Wanda’s grandmother Mayme Harris and sister-in-law Frank Edgar’s wife assisted. Out-of-town guest David Douglass from Greeley attended with relatives from Greeley Eaton Sev erance and Pierce to follow a weeklong visit.

The article recounts Joseph E Painter Sr.’s life from English immigration in 1861 to roles as Roggen postmaster, third district county commissioner, Denver livestock shows organizer, and a traveling Federal Land Bank representative.
Joe Bonicelli, tavern owner, sues John J P Olson for 25000 after Olson, a policeman, was suspended two days for striking Bonicelli with a night stick on July 9. Olson was later reinstated after a five hour hearing by City Manager John M Biery without reprimand. Bonicelli claims unlawful assault and battery.
An abstract wire sculpture titled The Sun, displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is made from 22 carat gold wire and carries an approximate value of $10,000.
In Paris Ontario a Lisbon street court heard a speeding charge. Bruce Urqu appeared and faced a summons to reappear on Friday June 5 next. He pleaded guilty and was fined fourteen dollars after the prosecutor offered weekly adjournments to June 1957.
