Martha Jane Polldwicek six months old died after rolling to the bed edge at the Polldwicek home in West Pawnee. Coroner T. F. Armstrong said the infant’s head wedged between the mattress and footboard as the mattress sagged into a crack. Mother placed the sleeping child on a bed-davenport then left to the bean field. upon return she found the baby dead. The baby’s body was taken to the Grover mortuary. the family has one other child, a daughter. The home is twelve miles northwest of Grover.
