Old Belmont Mansion Used as Distillery

Eight general agents confiscated the Belmont mansion during a Saturday raid. The 27-room home, once owned by Belmont social dictator Melmont, was found converted into a large distillery with permits for vast output. Prisoners and workers described a factory-like operation with copper stills, wells, and decorated interiors preserved amid the ruin. Belmont died in Paris in January. the estate had been sold prior.

G W C Glee Club Performs For Local Schools Thursday

Colorado Woman's College glee club entertained Greelay high school students and local pupils on Thursday afternoon. The group sang college songs and popular tunes with violin and saxophone solos. The visitors praised the twenty first annual tour by the college women.

Senior Sneak Day Observed at Eaton

The annual senior sneak day at Eaton was held Thursday with plans for Estes Park and a banquet at The Hupp hotel. Severe storm forced changes, the party spent the day in Denver and enjoyed a show with a banquet at the Blue Parrot Inn in the evening.

Wyoming Triumphs In First Intercollegiate Chorus Contest

In a Friday night event at Nealdor, Wyoming won the men’s chorus while Colorado University women’s chorus placed first. Four schools competed including Wyoming and Colorado University. Judge J DeForest Cils reported about 300 contestants and a very successful program.
