A late April disaster on the Jarduna in eastern Bengal saw the Condor, a river steamer owned by the River Steam Navigation Co, sink during a storm. Only 18 passengers were saved. The vessel, built in 1897 and rebuilt in 1928, was traveling from Berajgnog Ghot to Goalundo when it foundered. Recovery efforts recovered some mail bags and parts of the wreck are in about three fathoms of water.
Margaret Parry, daughter of Antionotls Parry Fracautt and niece of hardware dealer W A Froganfi, stars in Strictly Dishonorable at Broadway theater in Denver this week. Her family ties include associate of Harry Doherty in Cities Service and summers spent in Denver at Mrs Edward Roberty Murphy’s home. Parry Fracautt co directs Butlerly Clehonovante, the comedy that launched her career when Muriel Kirkland fell ill. Parry now leads the traveling troupe with plans for Los Angeles next.
R C Downes of Detroit, a noted artist, will give a free exhibition of intricate abate at Frye and Pilkington pool hall in Greeley Tuesday night at nine o'clock. This is his third visit to the city.
Banks and Brown assume Fort Morgan Chevrolet agency May 1 after purchasing Partridge Chevrolet interest. B N Bank, formerly with Galland Banks Inc, and L R Brown, longtime Chevrolet executive, relocate to Fort Morgan to run the business and operate a new garage.
The German Congregational church on Twelfth and Fourth avenues in St Paul prepares to host roughly seventy delegates this weekend for the Colorado Conference of German Churches. The event runs from Thursday afternoon through Sunday night with Rev. J. G. Eokhardt leading services and addressing the general conference. The region includes Colorado and neighboring states. In other notes, a wedding gift ceremony in New York plans a life appointment for a bride at Union Theological Seminary and introduces her fiancé a teacher at Anabale College in Salonika.
Fort Lupton on April 30 hosted Bert Lupton School’s operetta Campus Daz in two acts. Cast featured Jed played by Harol Walker and Tommy by Wyhart Bolton. the chorus included Vera Walker Wynne Wilcott and numerous others. The show opened in Mn Jenkins boarding home yard and showcased songs like Carrie Comes to College and Money Makes the World Go Round, with praised performances by Evelyn Decker and Wybert Bolton.
The Greeley Garden Club distributed seed packets to schoolchildren in the local schools. D. C. Roger reports the seeds have arrived and will be given to children within a week. The club organizes the annual flower garden program with prizes for appearances and bouquets for the winners.
Donations of clothing were made by many groups and citizens and a number of individuals. Some groups sewed clothing from new material and contributed to the Associated Railways drive for distribution.

Central Platoon P T A plans its annual banquet at the First Baptist church dining room, May 6, to honor staff and faculty. Speakers will include A J Stutsman, Romi Keundel, and Hugh F Wheeler with A J Seelingar as toastmaster. Mrs J L Beagle will report on the state convention. new officers will be installed by George A Irvin including Mrs J L Thompson as president and Miss Mable Cochran as principal.
College High School senior class presents Cat o Ninny Tails a mystery comedy by Lawrence G Worcester Thursday May 1 in the Little Theater. The play features a dark stage with strange music a scream and an underground cellar scene as two governments seek legal documents. Opal Adama directs with Mina supervising and Pauline Pogue as senior class sponsor. seniors handle ticket sales.

Greeley high school picks its Fox Boys and Girls Club for Denver Music Week. Forty eight students, split into two groups of twenty four, will travel May 9 to compete with other schools for state honors. Teacher Helen Tanner will direct and accompany the group. costumes feature white sweaters with orange collars for girls and white shirts with darker trousers for boys.
Fanbel Entertainment presents a benefit program at Greeley High School this evening to raise funds for Camp Dunraven improvements and aid guardians facing camp costs. The event highlights Faubel touring the U S and Canada, promising entertaining performances and support for a worthy cause.
Funeral service for Mrs. Joanetta Smith will be at 41 o'clock Thursday morning at Macy's chapel. Report from Mrs. R Norris of 1829 Tenth Avenue to police that signs were stolen from her front lawn Monday evening. This is the second time thieves have raided Norris premises, the first being gas stolen from her car left in her garage.
La Salle students plan a May Fete on May 1 on the school lawn with seven seventh graders performing. Mesker directs, featuring a lay by the seventh grade titled When Polly War Queen of the May. The program ends with the winding of the May Poles and invites public attendance. remaining grades to present an operetta at a later date.
The Big Bend P T A scrapbook ranked among the top eight in the state at the Salida convention. Fifty four entries competed with Big Bend scoring ten points. A meeting of P T A units from Cameron Ward and Cameron schools is set for Thursday at the Cameron school with Dr. Ira W. Bowarth as speaker.
Mr and Mrs Allen Titmus of 1913 Eleventh Avenue welcomed a baby at 10 40 Sunday night at the Gree ley hospital. The newborn is a boy and both mother and child are reported in good spirits.
