Multiple air crashes in Arkansas, New Hampshire, and Texas claim eleven lives and injure dozens. Among the dead are Booney Beard and Kelly Tawry, with others listed by name. A separate fatal crash near Portmouth and additional injuries in Oklahoma and Michigan are reported. Police and circus officials are coordinating aid as investigators probe the incidents.
Bellvue officials and M J Benallo announce that about 600 trout 12 to 16 inches long will be released into the Poudre River in the coming week. This marks the start of more than 1,000,000 fish planned for distribution near the Poudre canyon as the 1920 season approaches. The hatchery will continue annual spawning and careful feeding to raise trout for anglers and trophy catches.
In Larimer county a Round Butte dome well abandoned at 2376 feet shows mud flow and water in the Dakota and Lakota formations. Cactus Oil Co a Roxana subsidiary drilled earlier with similar results. Near Patterson well in Greasewood reports 5700 feet depth with hope for a productive sand around 6200 feet. Standard of California drills in southern California as Weld county prospects revive. Fort Morgan Colorado reports Indian Territory Colorado No.1 well in Morgan county resumed, targeting 6000 feet. water and gravel flow caged. completion planned summer testing the Fort Morgan anticline.
A massive sugar beet acreage across Sterling, Cole, Fort Morgan, Brush and Gypsum factory districts benefited from recent rains. Moisture after planting improved germination prospects, boosting stands and expected yields. Morgan County received nearly an inch on April 24 25, aiding soil moisture for beets. Ovid Julesburg area had over an inch plus half inch on April 24 26. Sterling district fields were soaked by timely rains strengthening germination hopes.

Grade echo declamation winners for the entire county were determined at the final contest held in Greeley Saturday afternoon. Four schools were represented in both humorous and dramatic readings with Evelyn Grandenning Gil first in humorous for Mrs Ruggles and in dramatic Eva Leverty Mie first for The Truly Mother. Second place in humorous went to Emily Scholder Keenesburg for Penrod's Letter and Deth Bachtel West Pawnee for Penrod's Letter. In dramatic second Doris Watts LaSalle for The Same reading, Virginia Holley Purcell for The Little Match Girl third, and Fern Goodyine Hereford for The Swan Song third.
