Old Fellows Gather in Windsor for Northern Colorado Convention
The Greeley L O O F won the competitive drill at Windsor Monday night while Longmont Rebekahs took the auxiliary drill. Lafayette crushed Windsor 19 to 1 in baseball as Eaton planned next year’s convention. About three thousand people attended with delegates from Weld County towns. The day featured a program at the M and church and a large open-air dance at a pavilion.

Leg Injury From Cattle Guard Incident at Windsor
Artie Sautters, 19, of Sev erance, was injured when a cattle guard tore flesh from his leg while clinging to an outboard car as Windsor’s big day ended. The train reversed to the station for medical aid. no bones were broken and a quick recovery is expected.

Barn Fire Destroys Structure on South Side
A large vacant barn at 1414 Eighth Avenue burned at 9 last evening with unknown origin. It collapsed before volunteer crews could save the block. insurance of 400 dollars will cover the loss. Neighboring roofs caught fire but were saved with hoses and buckets.

Fire Threatens Eaton Block as Runaways Run Through Town
A Monday fire in a smoke house behind Miller and Cushman’s market endangered a block in Eaton. Marshal Reger led firefighting efforts as a northeast wind tested crews. an explosion was avoided despite five gallons of gasoline and fifty gallons of lard in the building. A runaway farm team dashing through town nearly trampled a child, but no deaths occurred.

Cattlemen Win Victory Law Change on Abandoned Cattle
Governor Shafroth signed a bill transferring exclusive charge of abandoned and suffering range cattle to the state board of livestock inspection commissioners. The state bureau of child and animal protection will not handle such cattle unless the livestock board fails to act. Cattle men claim final victory in their long dispute with the humane bureau.

High Wind at Ault Causes Wagon Upset
Ault residents report severe wind Monday that overturned a hay wagon driven by John Lofgren of Greeley after loading at Albert Nelson's ranch three and a half miles northeast of Ault. The hay stack was also blown down.
