President Roosevelt announced that American neutrality patrol vessels would operate across the seas as needed to defend the Western Hemisphere. He denied plans to escort convoys at present while acknowledging Greenland might be partly under Axis control. Robert Gilchrist, 35, longtime principal of Greeley High and head of educational relations for the NYA, is recommended for the directorship of the University School at Ohio State University in Columbus. If approved, he would start June 23, leaving Greeley.
