Big Thompson Diversion Tunnel Awarded To Magoffin Co
The Bureau of Reclamation announced the Mat ite contract for the main diversion tunnel on the Colorado Big Thompson project was awarded to Magoffin Company of Englewood Colorado. The bid was 1625 000 for about 003 feet of tunnel beginning at the Wind River canyon about 16 miles southwest of Estes Park. Magoffin has 20 days to start and 440 days to complete the work. A celebration is planned with regional officials and chambers of commerce naming Estes Park and northern Colorado cities as participants.
