Prince the Denver fire horse dies at grading camp
The aging horse Prince once valued by the Denver Fire Department died at a grading camp near Greeley. Reared amid fire alarms, he served ten years before being sold to graders, where he toiled until illness and fading strength kept him from work. On the day of his death the fire gong sounds stirred him briefly before he failed.
